LEARNING WILL NEVER BE THE SAME ONCE YOU’VE PLAYED THE NAME ME GAME!!

Let’s face it… games are a huge part of children’s lives these days. As kids grow older, they would rather spend more time playing video games or watching other people play video games  than they are reading books, doing their homework, or even THINKING about their future.

It’s all about the games – online, consoles, handhelds, virtual and augmented reality…you name it! This is the world we live in today. So, If gaming is the new way, then we as good shepherds of the next generations have to change along with the times – especially when it comes to teaching children at their most important, developmental ages that knowledge is power. 

Consider this: High school graduation rates are dropping. Why do you think this is?  It’s because the basics of early education haven’t picked up with the times yet.  We have an entire generation of high-schoolers and college students that are jaded and bored. They aren’t interested in learning anymore. They aren’t interested in their future. As a result, education and skill levels are devolving. It’s kind of scary to see. 

Moreover, parents aren’t just getting involved enough! Putting aside the startling statistics of single-parent homes, with the advent of social media and the digital age there is now very little interaction in the day to day lives of today’s kids. Those tried and true tested methods of engaged involvement and discussion are no longer even a consideration in the structure of the school systems today. They’ve been replaced by automatons with no attention spans and no desire to interact with the world around them. Because they don’t know how to.  

Plus, young children today aren’t like the children of the past. Today, youngsters have instantaneous access to information from the moment a child can press a touchscreen on an iPad. We need a clean slate of the methods to educate and keep kids captivated and engaged at the same time. But moreover, classroom environments are where children learn how to interact and brainstorm and discuss amongst themselves, and that, too, is a skill set that seems to be devolving in the face of the digital age. It is past-time to reimagine the education curriculum into a tool that is used to shape the future generations for a world that has forgotten how to relate.

The truth is that without a level of involved interaction, the level of retention rates plummet. Reading with a child versus putting them down with an ipad or phone is a real problem in society today and let’s face it, there is very little that is going to change that. Encouraging imaginative thought and interaction in a constructive group environment are no longer a factor in the lesson plans across America. In some instances teachers actually consider open discussion dangerous and therefore the skills of civil debate have simply gone by the wayside. It’s a genuine threat to societal norms as a whole.   

 There has to be a better way. 

Solution: Fostering a love for learning empowers us to be more.

So, how do we stop it? How do we evolve as Parents and Educators to ensure our “Digital Children” are still well-rounded, balanced, social beings? 

We must re-imagine today’s curriculum to include those interactive and fun elements that foster a love for learning, which in turn empowers the youths of today to become the leaders we need for tomorrow!

We have to upgrade and incorporate those missing traditional elements back into our methods and meet today’s kids where they are. We need to be focused on introducing core fundamentals into early education more. They already want to be “digital” at that age, so give them what they need AND want they want. Design all new Educational tools to be supplemented in that ever evolving online environment with interactive games that reinforce the group creative thought discussions that engage them in the real world first. Remembering that if we make learning fun at an any age, we encourage them to hunger for the fun and in turn, they will continue to thirst for knowledge!

Game-based learning is a revolution in early education, and even corporate training in today’s workforce is getting on board. At grade school level, studies have shown that there are several ways educational games are helping students and teachers to meet their goals without losing interest – especially those engaging in remote learning. That’s where we come in!

INTRODUCING THE NAME ME GAME!

Learning will never be the same once you’ve played the Name Me Game!

We have created a fun, educational and interactive book and board/video game series designed to feature a supplemental, digital learning module / app series for children ages 3 to 8 that will begin to mold young minds and teach them that learning is fun while engaging them in an interactive environment and discussion! Each book and game within the series will take you through an interactive adventure module that is both enthralling AND educational. 

Our solution is to create an educational and interactive book and game series that will make learning fun again AND also instill those core fundamentals that need to start early in childhood in order to attain a thirst for knowledge. 

By fostering a love for learning today it will empower the youth of today to become the leaders of tomorrow!

By introducing these games and books early into an online learning environment/remote setting, we will:

Provide in depth learning and promote critical thinking skills. Educational games often reward for making quick but smart decisions, and they require players to use logic and strategic thinking. Games can also build up fluency through repetition.

Reinforce the fun of learning through our interactive adventure. Online, interactive games have been known to be a great way to reinforce material without making children or students feel like they are taking a test. Our modules will ensure they master all of the themes being studied. This can result in better test scores when the time comes for them to take longer and more rigorous exams.

Increase engagement and interest, especially for those who have difficulty focusing. Keeping students’ interest is a challenge for even the best of teachers. Active participation in games can give children a deeper appreciation of the curriculum and make the prospect of learning more exciting. In many studies, teachers reported a dramatic increase in engagement among their students who learned using games. Research has also shown that using educational video games can help children who struggle to focus and pay attention.

Increase confidence and knowledge of material.  Children and students who get something wrong in a well-made game will immediately want to try again until they succeed, which reinforces the idea of growth through practice while ensuring they learn and retain the material. They expect to fail and try again in a game setting, leading to the lesson that persistence and practice pays off when it comes to learning. Our modules will be created so that it will help children and students to succeed when they face bigger challenges.

Teachers’ enthusiasm is increased due to student engagement and performance. In several studies, 92 percent of teachers who used educational games said they would like to continue the practice on account of its impact on their students’ engagement and performance levels. Games make it easier for teachers to differentiate instruction according to skill as many of them automatically adjust to suit the level of the player. This allows teachers to give students who are struggling more time with certain material without holding back the rest of the class.

By combining all of these elements, we will create an online learning environment that is not just educational, but also takes you on many adventures through our world! We may even potential evolve further in the future, with modules that can grow into a digital environment that offers VR/AR expansion.

Market

We intend to market to the general public while we develop a line of books that can be compiled into a classroom “text book” version of each adventure. As we grow, we will develop the apps and a video game platform that will support both mobile gaming and online learning modules for K-12 homeschooling programs, as well as placement within the Private School networks to start. 

Additionally, we intend to develop both boards games and a “Name Me Game the Roadtrip Adventure” video game that could potentially involve the licensing and re-imagining of a recently discontinued Fisher Price platform that was a personal favorite in our household for our child growing up. A stationary bike video game learning adventure! 

And of course, the waiting rooms of Police Stations (Bexley’s Box), Children’s Hospitals, Doctor’s Offices- these are an easy charitable donation that will make a real difference in the lives of children who are not in a good place. 

The growth of the potential storylines and subjects to expand upon in edition after edition of each journey is simply exponential.

We just can’t seem to run out of ideas at this point! We have literally 250 books on the list to create with 19 already out on the Amazon Marketplace.
